How audio dictation works

Open the typing tutor and enable Voice assistance or Read words aloud (Sprachhilfe / Wörter vorlesen). Choose a single word, a short group of words or a longer passage. Read the same exercise on screen whenever you need a text equivalent.

Replay and adjust the pace

Press Enter in the typing field or Alt + R to hear the current section again. Adjust speech speed from 0.6× to 1.4× and choose an available system voice. Stop playback at any time with Stop voice (Stimme stoppen).

Choose how errors affect practice

Require a correct answer before moving on, or allow errors and continue. Use repetition to connect what you hear with accurate keystrokes. Start with short sections before increasing the amount to remember.

Speech availability

Voices depend on your browser, operating system and installed language voices. German, Swiss Standard German and English lessons use the available speech voices; Amharic speech availability varies. If speech fails or stops, visible text remains available.
